Story

Hi there,

My name was Shanab. I don't know if you remember me but I was living in this beautiful, crazy cat house. I was a foundling and very weak, just skin and bone really, but this awesome guy nursed me back to health. My brother was like me, but he was still sick, life on the street was hard and one night he just faded away. I was so upset, but I had many new friends around me and finally, for the first time in my life I realised that I didn't feel scared.

Then the most amazing thing happened! I got adopted into this big cat family and I made soooo many new friends. The big guy was so good with me, bathing my eyes and sores and soon I was running around and playing like the rest of the kittens and cats.

Then I got Parvo Virus. I don't remember anything about it, I was soooo sick, I couldn't walk and everything hurt, all the time. My friends SmashedUpFace and Black&White and LittleHead told me that the big guy stayed up with me all night giving me tiny drinks from a syringe and talking to me and loving me all night long. At some point I do remember his voice calling me back and I woke up. Everyone was so surprised that I could walk a bit the next day.

I loved the big guy even more than he loved me (I think). I followed him everywhere, helping him make tea, write on his computer, go to the toilet, eat his dinner and play Skyrim. I think he loved it best when I just sat on his shoulder or let him carry me around, after all, I was still very small and sickly, I didn't always feel my best.

Life was amazing. I was doing all my best things running up trees, hiding in boxes, playing chase ... it was wonderful to sleep in the open and feel safe. I was loving it, we were living my best life, me, him, the crazy cat family. Then it happened again. I got really sick. This time all the love, soft words, hugs and stroking couldn't help. I was so tired and so weak. I couldn't stay. I tried, I really did. It was just too much this time. Even though I was super sad to leave my new family and the big guy, I knew that everyone was in good hands and surrounded by love there.

I went back to check on everyone, to see my old friends and how the family had grown. I knew that Molly-1-Eye and Pip and Lolly the tiny ginger ones had died and also the two new born kits from MrsWriggles but I hadn't seen all the of new ones. There is Shouts and LittleBundleOfLove, they are the best. There is the PirateVampireLady, but she scares me, even now co she is so grumpy unless she is on the big guys knee.

DeathMetalFace has a daughter and she is fostering two MORE little kittens. I love her so much, she was my foster mum too! I heard the big guy saying she was fixed now, so that is her last good deed, she has done so much, she needs a rest. She is just one though, there are others too, so please, help if you can.

Until I came back to visit I didn't realise how much work there was, after all, my job was sitting on keyboards and knocking things over ... I mean, how hard is that? Now I can see how much food we all eat, well, I mean they eat. There are the vets bills too, and bills for meds on top of that. The new ones need to get "fixed" as well so this is just more and more money too. I got sick with Parvo and I want to save everyone from that too, so everyone needs vaccinations so they don't make any newcomers sick (like happened to me).

The big guy needs help. Can anyone spare a little bit here or there? Anything helps with feeding them and paying a vet bit. It all would makes such a difference to their lives.

Thank you so much,

Shanab.
