Story

In the current crisis with COVID-19, the NHS are working even harder to provide excellent care for people in need.

My sister (Samantha Nutting) works as a Nurse in the Critical Care Unit at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. All staff are having to shower at the end of every shift in order to prevent any further infection, as patients in this unit are CRITICAL.

Now this cannot be funded solely by the NHS themselves, as you can imagine the pressure to provide for all patients within the NHS at times like this are pushed to the VERY LIMIT.

Me and my family are trying to gain as many supplies as possible, including: miniature shampoos; conditioners, toothbrushes and food supplies. All these supplies help the staff to care for the overgrowing number of patients that they are having to care for on a daily basis. So, if we can make their job even that little bit easier, then we should.

LRI has also set up 'well-being areas' for staff from Critical Care and other units to retreat to. This is so they are able to get themselves a cup of tea, something to eat, as this is not facilitated on the units.

The more money that I raise, will also mean being able to buy more PPE equipment for the unit as the NHS are really struggling in getting this protection in for their staff members at the moment.

PLEASE donate any amount that you can afford, no amount is too little. Each and every penny that you donate will go towards helping the staff work at their full potential.

THANKYOU!! :) xxx
