Croía Coney was born on the 19th July 2022 and at just 12 days old, was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Biliary Atresia.

On 10th August, a Kasai procedure (hepatoportoenterostomy) was performed at the children's hospital in Birmingham to reconstruct the bile ducts and restore bile flow.
Unfortunately, however, in Croía's case, this procedure was unsuccessful, and her condition has continued to deteriorate.

The only effective treatment for a 'failing' portoenterostomy is a full liver transplant.

This has been and continues to be a very difficult time for Croía's family and friends.
