Story

We need raise money and come together and keep our children safe. We need to keep our Lollipop service!

For those of you who have children who have been, or are currently at any of our schools (Gosforth Park First School, St Oswald's, GEMS) for a while, you may already know about the situation related to the Parklands crossing. This is the crossing at the entrance to Whitebridge Park, where Katie our Lollipop lady, currently stands.

You may have assumed that this service is provided by our local council, but it is not. We, parents and carer's of children who go to the above 3 schools need to raise this money each year and have done for the last 7 years.

This is becoming a bigger task each year, but it is a service we desperately need to keep. This is such a dangerous bend which must be manned to keep our children safe, whether they walk to school alone or with their carers.

The council have increased our Lollipop service at this crossing to £8k per year. We have secured Katie, (our Lollipop lady) until the 20th of December but we need an additional £5,500 to keep Katie until July 2025.

We need to raise this money as soon as possible (by beginning of November). Any donations to this vital cause is gratefully received.

Thank you,

The Parklands crossing team.
