Story
So as a contender for this year's crown for Miss Transgender UK. As part of our contenders duties we are fundraising for our chosen charities. I've decided to fund raise for Space Youth Project because they've been a staple in my life from when I came out as transgender, I had no support around me from peers or family and recommend Space Youth Project. Since attending the groups, they helped me become the women I am today and gave me the confidence overcome any barriers I may face. They offer support for young people to have a space where they can go to be themselves and express who they are, and get help from trained youth workers and peer to peer support without discrimination or judgement. They run regular youth groups throughout Dorset, as well as providing one to one support, awareness training, and offer family support. They run activities at groups to encourage peer support, confidence and allow open discussion about anything and everything regarding worries and concerns.

I am a 22 year old transgender female from Dorset. When I came out as transgender at 13, I was a victim of transphobia but with help of Space and Gender Specialists, I have been given the confidence to be myself, as well as wanting to make a difference in my local community.
