I just want to take a few minutes of your times to read my little brothers story and hopefully help us if you can
It all began when Harvey was born, Harvey wasn’t acting like any of my mums other children when he arrived.. Harvey constantly juddered Asif he was jumping out of his skin the slightest little noise would make him do it even a little whisper, it was then my mum and i knew something was wrong, as Harvey’s gotten older we have noticed more unusual things that hes started to do like banging his head on hard floors, doors, walls you name it. Harvey also has a tick which looks like hes doing something he shouldn’t be on the floor...he does this because he cant feel the floor with his feet so he has to dig his body into the floor to feel it, Harvey has something you call autism and for you that don’t know what autism is here’s a little definition: Autism is a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterised by great difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts.
There’s different types of autism but Harvey has the very sever side of it which makes him hear things 10x louder than we can, makes him have meltdowns that he finds hard to deal with which causes him to bang his head, theres loads of other things i could write on here about harvs but its limited to how much you can write, Harvey’s disability is heart breaking for us and we just want the best for him.
The whole reason im asking for your help is: My mum recently got a family fund grant for Harvey which she bought a garden shed with, she bought this so we can do it out for him with his own things as he is doesnt like people using his thing nor moving them as he has his own set ways and routines, we need help to buy sensory toys/stationary for his shed as the special sort of toys/padding Harvey needs is very expencive and as a family of 8 we find it a little hard...any donations will be very helpful, thankyou for reading.
