Story

As we all know, 2020 has been a rubbish year!

Imagine the impact this has had on children’s emotional wellbeing; school closures and lockdown making things super confusing. With anxieties rising and a lack of social interaction, children have suffered terribly and without always having the emotional maturity to reconcile their feelings as we do as adults.

In addition to this, with the ONS reporting over 65,000 excess deaths to date this year, there are many children who have experienced an untimely bereavement as well. Some areas have been really badly affected - I’ve read reports of single schools having had 25-40 bereavements within their setting alone.

Schools are now the front line for dealing with all the anxieties, emotions and the grief of all children! With little funding, charities and organisations who can help are overrun with referrals. Schools don’t have spare resources or funds to be able to get additional help either.

So, with a little help from the country's grown ups, I’d love to help the country's little ones.

Over lockdown, I partnered with a national mental health charity, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, and together we want to raise enough funds to put mental wellbeing books into schools around the country for free. The books cover helping a child with their emotions and also guiding them through a bereavement.

You can find information about the books here: www.cskidsbooks.com

Should you wish to order a copy for your own child, you can use the coupon code KPG40 at checkout. A donation from each sale goes towards helping The Kaleidoscope Plus Group with the amazing work they do!
