I've raised £500 to 2019 Cuba Brigade

In April 2019 we will have the opportunity to go on a brigade to Cuba. 2019 is the 60 anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
The brigade is organised by Rock around the Blockade a campaign in solidariy with Cuba. On the Cuban side it is hosted by the UJC, the union of young communists. The youth wing of the Communist Party of Cuba.
We will be visiting community centres, hospitals, Schools, farms & cooperatives, biotechnology institutes, mass organisations like FMC, the Cuban women’s Federation. We want to hear how Cuba has achieved a situation where 53% of National Assembly, their Parliament, are women.
We are going to be visiting, ELAM, the Latin American School of Medicine, the world’s biggest medical school set up to train poor people from around the world as doctors - for free!
Here in Glasgow, Scotland, 40% of the children live in poverty. social services are being cut and inequality is raising alone with unemployment, homeless and racism. And this is one of the richest countries in the world...
We want to learn how Cuba deals with this issues, despite been a poor country, that have been blockaded by US for nearly 60 years, creating scarcities and problems in almost every aspect of Cuban life.
We want to learn how Cuba deals with these problems and learn about Cuban socialism, as a political and economic alternatives to capitalism.
Please support our trip to Cuba by donating to our crowdfunding campaign.
Your donation will help towards the costs of the brigade. It will also help to buy material aid that we’ll donate to Cuba youth, sash sports, educational equipment along with musical instruments.
On our return to Glasgow & we will talk about our experiences and the challenges ahead for the Cuban Revolution & it’s new younger leadership.
We will also plan a series of events with photos, videos & testimonies of what we learned.
