We wanted to set up this page for our friends Shaun Johnston, his partner Becky and their family.

On the 20th September this year every parent’s worst nightmare happened, Shaun and Becky's 9 year old daughter Abigail collapsed at home and was rushed to hospital. The doctors discovered that Abbi had a bleed on the brain and after further tests the family received the devastating news that Abbi has a very aggressive stage 4 terminal tumour. Abbi was initially given hours, possibly days to live. Due to the bleed Abbi is now severely disabled and needs constant medical care. Abbi has a form of locked in syndrome meaning Abbi is fully aware but unable to talk or move but she has learnt to communicate using her eye. Shaun, Becky and Abbi have been in Alder Hey Hospital for the past 7 weeks. Becky has been supporting Shaun all the way through, looking after their other daughter Jasmin at home. Abbi is fighting hard and Shaun, Becky and the family have been so very strong.

Everybody is having a tough time at the moment but Shaun and Becky’s situation really makes you appreciate just how lucky you are. They don’t know how long they have left together and we want to try and help them make the most of that time without the worry of money and bills and hopefully give them a little bit extra to make Christmas extra special for Abbi and to contribute to whatever help they need in the coming weeks and months.

We are so proud of Shaun and his family and how they are dealing with this terrible situation. If you can contribute in any small way your help would be very much appreciated at this really difficult time.
