Story

Update 31.7.25 - Good news we now have a second 4wd to take out in September. Thanks to John in Wigton for the great deal he did for us and to Penrith Body Repairs as always for their help too. We have some work to do to the load area and then it’ll be all set. Still hoping for a third vehicle, hopefully an ambulance if funds allow 😀Thank you for your donations and please keep supporting us 🇺🇦🚑🇬🇧

Update 28.5.25 - Since arriving back in March we have been fundraising for our next vehicles and thanks to our wonderful supporters and customers at the garden centre we now have enough to buy car no. 20! We have a canopy to fit and some service items to do and it will then be ready to go. This pickup is being donated to a good friend of ours who operates in frontline areas carrying supplies and helping people. We now need the funds for at least a second vehicle as we always take a minimum of two in case of problems along the way. Please help in any way you can. Thank you 🇺🇦🚑🇬🇧 www.cumbriaaidukraine.org

Update 22.3.25 - Success again! After 3 days of driving it only took 90mins to get through the border with the help of our good friends of the Lviv EMS. We handed over both cars at the central hospital as we've done now many times. As ever they were very happy and grateful for them and asked that we keep bringing the same kind of 4wd as essentially there are no roads at the frontline, just dirt tracks as we know. So the fundraising begins again !!

Update 18.3.25 - Today we leave for Ukraine with both vehicles full of medical and humanitarian aid. We will be in Lviv hopefully on Saturday to hand them over to our good friends at Lviv EMS. They will then go straight to work in frontline areas.

Follow our progress on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/cumbriaaidukraine/ and please keep donating as we still have costs to cover! Thank you 🇺🇦🚑🇬🇧

Update 1.3.25 - Good news and thank you for all the fantastic donations recently. We've found a second car to take but this car needs some work and we still need to pay for it and the equipment to put in it. So keep those donations coming and we'll be ready to take them both to Ukraine soon 🇺🇦🚑🇬🇧

Update 10.2.25 - This one is ready to go to Ukraine! Thanks to the support of our fantastic local businesses that continue to play their part. Sophie, Jackson & Catherine from Penrith Body Repairs and their paint supplier LKQ have changed the colour ready for the frontline, Brian & Nicky from Cowperthwaites Garage fixed the mechanicals and Simon at Hardy's Tyres Penrith Limited put on the winter tyres! We keep saying it but it really does take a team to make things happen 🙂

We now need a second vehicle to go with it so if you have a 4wd and want to donate it please get in touch 😊 and please keep the funds coming through this page or directly at the garden centre. Thank you 🇺🇦🚑🇬🇧

Update 5.1.25 - 🇺🇦 Happy New Year to all our friends here and in Ukraine 🇬🇧 We wish them peace and success in 2025.

Good news! We have the chance to buy our next vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder like to one we took last July but this time we need to equip it ourselves and raise the funds to pay for it in the first place. We've made a start by sourcing the stretcher and base but we still need 12v/240v or battery powered equipment such as:

Suction machine, Defibrilator, Splints, Oxygen cylinder and masks, Spinal board, Nebuliser, 12v Inverter, Consumables such as syringes, needles, dressings etc (in date please)

If anyone can help us with items off this list please get in touch as soon as possible.

PLUS- we need help to paint it in matt dark green so that it can go straight to work with the frontline medics. If you know anyone who has the equipment to do this at as little cost as possible please🙏 contact us.

We intend to boost our efforts this year but we need your help by donating here, at The Pot Place Garden Centre or through our website www.cumbriaaidukraine.org 🇺🇦🚑🇬🇧 thank you

Our Story. We are a group of volunteers based at The Pot Place Garden Centre, Penrith, Cumbria and since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022 we have been fundraising to take ambulances to Ukraine and donate them to the emergency services. To date we have taken 11 ambulances and 17 vehicles in total.

As the war has progressed 4wd Medical Rescue vehicles have been requested more and more due to the ever worstening road conditions.

We are looking to replicate the vehicles we took in July and Sept 2024 which had great 4wd performance but were also supplied with stretchers and other medical equipment.

We deliver all the vehicles ourselves to the Lviv EMS so that we can guarantee they reach the areas of most need.

We aim to support our friends in Ukraine for as long as they need us to and ask that you help us to do this by donating whatever you can.

Thank you
