Story
Hayley, our dear friend and nursing colleague, desperately needs £200,000 to help privately fund her treatment with a recently introduced immunotherapy drug. To give her the hope of extending her life, Hayley has no other option!
Although the drug she needs, Pembrolizumab, has been approved in America for Hayley's rare type of cancer, the NHS have made it available for only a very few patients suffering from certain cancers. Hayley does not 'meet the criteria'!
The Skin Integrity Team (Tissue Viability Specialist Nurses) at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (along with friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances) are walking 44 miles for Hayley over 2 days (28th and 29th October), from Doncaster Royal Infirmary to Hull Royal Infirmary. We want your help please to raise funds for Hayley's costly treatment. Funds from this page will be transfered and added to Hayley's go fund me account.

Hayley Is a 49 year old married mum. She has worked full time since she was 18, in adult nursing, enjoying for a long time the role as the expert lead in Tissue Viability for her two local hospitals (Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill). Hayley was passionate about the care of her patients, people with difficult and life threatening wounds..
In 24th February 2014 Hayley was diagnosed with colorectal (bowel) cancer. Her immediate concern was for her son Callum who was just eight years old. Unfortunately the cancer then spread to her liver, lymph nodes and Lungs.
Fortunately, a life saving drug is available at just over £260 per day (based on the £37mg cost of a new immunotherapy drug and 200mgs is required every three weeks, for up to two years). Unfortunately, although approved in America and for a narrow range of cancers in the NHS, NICE have just "suspended" their approvals review. Until approved the immunotherapy drug is only available to Hayley privately, at the cost of some £200,000.
Hayley desperately needs the great British public to help raise this money with her, as fast as possible, or bluntly she is going to die soon, robbing her son Callum of his mum.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, consider donating, and please, please share with as many friends/acquaintances as you can. A website has been set up at www.cure4hayley.com
All funds raised will go directly to Hayley's treatment, or to immunotherapy research if she should not be able to continue.
