I've raised £1000 to MIND

Joyce Chen, CWA lecturer and Louise Stableford, CWA Access to Medicine student and student governor have joined forces through origami to raise money for the local mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney MIND.
Joyce and Louise are hosting a series of events as part of the Connecting Hearts Through Origami project to teach both CWA staff and students and the wider community how to create origami hearts and other designs to support mental health and well-being.
The pair will be releasing a number of how to videos to the general public, as well as hosting a number of live events to staff and students.
Joyce said: “We are both passionate about origami and have delivered sessions to promote wellbeing via creating origami art as a medium for students and staff. We would like to take a step further to set up a wellbeing fundraising project, teaching show everyone how to make an origami heart and asking them to share their creations with a message to support mental health and wellbeing. This has been especially important during the pandemic and its impact for the future.”
Louise has previously delivered origami session in hospitals, care homes, to community groups and has successfully delivered sessions throughout the pandemic as part of enrichment session to support student wellbeing.
We are putting mental health at the forefront of this challenge by aiming to raise £1,000 for local mental health charity, West Norfolk MIND, as part of the challenge. Please help us to reach our target and raise money for this fantastic cause!
