Story

Recently I applied to the British heart foundation for a grant towards a defibrillator for calderwood. And we have been successful in gaining the grant

Now that the community is growing at a steady rate I felt that having a defibrillator in the area would be worthwhile.

With the nearest defibrillator at the new partnership centre and the possibility of emergency service being unable to find specific streets as many gps systems won’t have been updated.

If someone is in need of help and the use of a defibrillator is required every second counts which is where the having our very own machine helps save lives.

The plan would be to position the defibrillator on or around the new larder cafe building so it is accessible 24/7

The British heart foundations grant is for £ 600 which includes the defibrillator a training dummy and training aids. We plan as part of the grant to run 1 class a month for up to 8 people who will hopefully gain the knowledge to use the defibrillator if needed.

With the help of £600 from the British heart foundation we need to raise a further £850

This is broken down as follows

This is broken down as follows

£600 to bhf for the defibrillator and training kit

£250 for an outside all weather box

WIth nearly 350 homes in calderwood at this time it would only take £2.30 from each house to reach the goal

Please give what you can towards the grant fund and also to help the British Heart Foundation who have helped us with the materials and equipment

Thank you so much
