I've raised £1000 to fundraise and support my brave friend Martin Hibbert & his daughter, who suffered life changing injuries from the Manchester attack...

On 22 May 2017, my friend Martin Hibbert and his daughter's lives changed forever.
We take life for granted and we never think it will happen to us, or those close to us... after hearing the devastation caused by such a mindless act of terror in Manchester - feeling physically sickened, to then learn Martin and his daughter were critical in hospital was too upsetting to put into words...
They are both survivors. They are fighters. It's very early days and there's a long road to recovery - but they are both thankfully still here with us; however, their injuries are extremely serious. Martin is paralysed from the waist down and will never walk again. His daughter is making slow progress, but responding well to treatment. I can't heal their injuries or erase the horrific memories from that night... but I can help make a difference, with your support.
What am I going to do?
On Thursday 5 October 2017, I will cycle the Leeds Liverpool Canal in one day... 126 miles!!!
I recently bought my first mountain bike and at the time of setting up this page, the furthest I've cycled is 18 miles... I've previously jumped out of planes and wing walked for charity - but I have never pushed myself to my own limit physically.
This is a personal plea to try inject something positive into such a heartbreaking situation. Martin's courage and determination is so inspirational and I want to do anything I can to help them in my own little way... Their focus needs to be on getting better and stronger, not on the short / long term financial impacts.
Please donate anything you can, share this story and send your words of support to keep them fighting for their future.
More details to follow over the upcoming weeks.
