I've raised £4300 to supply bicyles, tools and general building materials to the people of the Caribbean islands affected by the recent hurricanes Irma and Maria

It’s been truly heartwarming to witness the global outpouring of support for the communities across the Caribbean that have been hit hardest by Hurricane Irma and Maria. We have already raised approximately £700 , but we need to rasie a total of £5,000.
The challenge in disaster situations is always to make sure that offers of support meet the real needs on the ground, and the Liverpool Commonwealth Association, in association with Merseyside Police are working hard to support the affected islands and UK governments in assessing what is needed the most and mobilising the resources at our disposal.
Due to the reduction in motorised transport in the wake of the hurricane our immediate effort will focus on sending bicycles, along with tools from Merseyside Police's unclaimed-property-store or donated ones to aid Islanders in the Caribbean. In addition we will also send building materials to aid in the rebuilding of devastated houses.
The aid cargo will be shipped in a 40’ High Cube container, loading in the Liverpool area and being shipped to the Port of Road Town which is located on Tortola, British Virgin Island.
Your donation will go towards meeting the shipping cost, quoted at £5,000.
