I've raised £500 to support two Redcar charities being Redcar and Cleveland Mind and Redcar RNLI in their fantastic work in the community.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England.
1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England.
Suicidal thoughts and self-harm aren’t mental health diagnoses. But they are related to mental health. Over the course of someone’s lifetime:
1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts
1 in 14 people self-harm
1 in 15 people attempt suicide.
Women are more likely to have suicidal thoughts and make suicide attempts than men. But men are 3 times more likely to take their own life than women.
We have all seen that it is widely reported that mental health issues have increased during the current pandemic and as we are in Lockdown 2.0 this is even more prevalent as the winter months are upon us.
So TEAM CYGNET have decided to try and raise some much needed funds for Redcar and Cleveland Mind and Redcar RNLI both of which offer crucial support to the community.
Last year we started our inaugural North Sea Dip but in the current lockdown it just isn't feasible for this to take place. So we thought about how we could still raise our funds as a team, bravely facing the cold and it just seemed inevitable that this would include a bucket and ICE!
The team will be taking on our very own Cygnet Ice Bucket Challenge - to raise awareness of mental health issues during the pandemic and to raise some funds for these amazing charities when they need it more than ever.
Over 14 days from Friday 27th November we will be taking on the challenge and uploading our videos/photos on here so that you can see and support us all.
