Please help Cylch Meithrin Hywel Dda during this difficult time.

Cylch Meithrin Hywel Dda, based in Whitland, is a registered charity and runs a Welsh language pre-school day nursery as well as a Ti a Fi baby and toddler group.

Childcare provisions in Wales are allowed to re-open from 29 June, however, after discussing with parents and staff a decision has been taken not to re-open until September 2020. It is not financially viable due to the temporary lower uptake and we also feel it is the right decision to ensure the safety of the children and staff.

The Cylch is determined to welcome back the children in September and to be able to offer parents reassurance that the environment is as safe as possible. Some of the work required over the summer to reduce the risk of the virus spreading includes:

- replacing the carpet with more durable and hygienic flooring

- getting built in storage to allow for toys and educational materials to be appropriately stored and to maximise the floor space

- re-painting

- undertaking a deep clean

- sourcing PPE

As a charity, we are reliant on parents’ fees as well as community fundraising events and, as this is not possible during this time, Cylch will have to draw on reserves to fund this project.

We would be extremely grateful for any support from parents, family and friends in the wider community so that these essential changes can be made and the future of Cylch Meithrin Hywel Dda is not compromised.

Mae Cylch Meithrin Hywel Dda, sydd wedi'i leoli yn Hendy-gwyn, yn elusen gofrestredig ac mae'n rhedeg meithrinfa ddydd Gymraeg yn ogystal â grŵp Ti a fi babanod a phlant bach.

Caniateir i ddarpariaethau gofal plant yng Nghymru ail-agor ar 29 Mehefin, fodd bynnag, ar ôl trafod gyda rhieni a staff penderfynwyd peidio ag ail-agor tan fis Medi 2020. Nid yw'n gynaliadwy yn ariannol oherwydd y niferoedd isel (dros dro) ac rydym hefyd yn teimlo mai dyma'r penderfyniad cywir i sicrhau diogelwch y plant a'r staff.

Mae'r Cylch yn benderfynol o groesawu'r plant yn ôl ym mis Medi ac i allu cynnig sicrwydd i'r rhieni bod yr amgylchedd mor ddiogel â phosibl. Mae’r gwaith sydd ei angen dros yr haf i leihau'r risg o ledaenu'r feirws yn cynnwys:

- gosod lloriau mwy gwydn a hylan yn lle'r carped

- codi storfa newydd er mwyn storio teganau a deunyddiau dosbarth yn briodol ac er mwyn gwneud y gorau o ofod y llawr

- ail-beintio

- glanhau a diheintio

- dod o hyd i PPE

Fel elusen, rydym yn dibynnu ar ffioedd rhieni yn ogystal â digwyddiadau yn y gymuned i godi arian, ac oherwydd nad yw hyn yn bosibl yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, bydd Cylch yn gorfod defnyddio cronfeydd wrth gefn i ariannu'r prosiect hwn.

Byddem yn hynod ddiolchgar am unrhyw gefnogaeth gan rieni, teulu a chyfeillion yn y gymuned ehangach fel y gellir gwneud y newidiadau hanfodol hyn a diogelu dyfodol Cylch Meithrin Hywel Dda.
