I've raised £500 to Improve Eyecare in Malawi

In one month a dozen Cardiff Optometry students, including myself, will be embarking on a once in a lifetime opportunity to provide free eyecare to thousands of people in the local communities of Malawi, Africa.
Our agenda for the month:
-Testing approx 3000-4000 people
-Providing free spectacles for these people
-Working in local hospitals
-Teaching local university students clinical techniques
-Visiting local orphanages
-Screening for ocular conditions
-We have funding for over 100 cataracts surgeries
-Working in a school for children with albinism
Malawi has been categorised as the least economically developed country in the world, with only 9 consultant ophthalmologists covering a population of 18 million.
With your donated money, we will be able to fundraise for a number of spectacles that will dramatically change the lives of our patients. Along with travelling, buying equipment and our accommodation around the country. Our team is aiming to raise a total of £9000 between us. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and has the potential to change someone's life for the better.
