I've raised £2000 to Help a 83 year old ex soldier be returned back to the uk from Thailand

Ron is 83 years young from Brighton in the UK ,he has been here in Thailand on a somewhat extended long holiday .
Let me explain Rons story in brief ...
6 am this morning 17/05/2020 I set off in the car to find a total stranger!
Following a post I noticed on social media in Bangkok a few days ago
.The post came from a family back in the UK . Who where extremely worried about the health and well being of there elderly father who is unable to return back to the UK .
To make things more worrying for the family. They could not fly into the country to help take the man home due to restrictions imposed by the covid 19
The worrying thing about this elderly man's situation. Was Not being stuck here in Thailand due to the covid 19 situation that i could understand
The real underlying FACT the reason the gentleman is stuck here.
Was due to what I soon discovered was a large number of Thai people who where keeping this man in a small room 8 x 6 sleeping on a make shift bed....on the top of a 3 story building. Unable to navigate himself down the stairs to actually leave.
These people where helping themselves to the Rons pension month after month often as he pointed out with threat of violence towards him .
There was other related situations that this poor man found himself in. But I prefer not to go into that
Anyhow we tracked down this old soldier and when I made my way into the room where he was being kept , to be asked *
Q. You can take me home?
A. Absolulty sir let's Go
The situation Today 18/05/2020 is That Ron is safe in a private resort , he has a clean room far away from the world he woke upto yesterday .
He has a comfortable bed & clean bedding and is recieving some nutrional food , to help get his strength back whilst waiting to get him a flight back home to the UK . He is in good spirits , although emotional, being home with his loving family in the UK , will help put this chapter of his life behind him
This afternoon have spoken to the British conuslate in Bangkok , and have been advised to seek help from family members , and friends back in the Uk , they also mentioned setting up a go-fund me campaign . Sad to see that after many years fighting for Queen and Country , when in your hour of need , it seems the wheels of support turn very slowly . sad but true SO HERE WE ARE
This is where the request for help is needed , Flights out of the Country at the moment are all but non existent due to the Covid 19 situation , Those few flights that are operational are extremely expensive .I also need to get Ron to local hospitall to be checked over ,to ensure he is OK to Travel
I understand that things are tight financially for all of us , with this Covid 19 at the moment , but if you can spare a pound or two , there is a family in the UK that would be eternaly grateful
Thanks a lot
Ron breaking free day 1
