I've raised £750 to buy books for the children of Connaught Primary School in Hove

So six months ago I was persuaded to run a half marathon, to get fit and healthy and acquire buns of steel, all for charity!.
What they don't tell you about is the dodgy knees, foot cramps, bad backs and running practice along Brighton seafront against strong winds, freezing temperatures and even snow! Neither do they tell you actually how far 13 miles is. It's a long way.
I'm raising money for Connaught Primary School, part of the West Hove School family, to buy much needed books for the children in the first three years of their school lives. It's an amazing school with talented and dedicated staff, but like all state schools has suffered with cuts and austerity in recent years. It's where my son started his school life and he had a very happy time there.
With the full support of the Head Teacher and PTA, I'm hoping that you can sponsor me for my gruelling half marathon on the 24th February 2019.
Running a half marathon when you're not a natural runner is hard work. I'm up to 8 miles so far and its already February and I've only done that once. To be honest I don't know how I'm going to get round but with some extra training, support from the crowds, perseverance and my chanting of 'kids need books' I hope I can just about do it. I will be out three or four times a week putting the leg-work in until then.
So, a fiver buys the school a book. The book is read by 30 children in the class, the book will last for years. If you're able to sponsor me you will put a smile on a child's face that you may never see and help establish a love of learning with someone you may never meet. You made that happen. Please give anything you can.
Special thanks to Elisabeth Neighbour, my running inspiration and mentor.
