Weʼve raised £250 to help host the 2017 Eisteddfod on Anglesey on behalf of Capel Coch. Tuag at Eisteddfod 2017 yn Sir Fon a'r rhan Capel Coch a'r dalgylch.

    Story

Dwi ag Ifan am fynd ar ein beics o Castell Coch i Capel Coch trwy pob pentref sy'n cynnwys y gair coch, mi fydd yn 260 milltir ag bron gymaint o ddringo ag mynydd Everest, mi fydd yn dridiau caled iawn!

Yr achos yr ydym yn casglu tuag at yw Eisteddfod Cenedlaethol 2017, sydd am fod yn Sir Fon am y tro cyntaf yn y canrif hon. Pan (neu os!!) fyddan yn gorffen mi fydd hwyl yw gael yn Capel Coch lle bu bwyd a diod ar gael i bawb. Mae yna hefyd gyfle i ymuno Ifan a mi am yr rhan dwethaf o'n taith, dim ond i chi rhoi swm bychan tuag at yr achos da.

Ifan and I are going on our bikes from Castell Coch to Capel Coch via all the villages containing the word 'coch', it will be 260 miles and nearly as much ascent as mount Everest, certainly a tough three days.

We're raising money towards the National Eisteddfod 2017 which will be in Anglesey for the first time this century. When (or should that be if!) we arrive there'll be fun, food and drink for all. There's also an opportunity to join me and Ifan for the last leg of our journey if you could give a small amount to the cause.

Thanks to everyone who made this journey and worth it. It was brilliant to undertake and excecute such an adventure for a great cause, but the support topped all of our expectations! Diolch yn fawr.

Well it's been an adventure... Benightment, mechanicals, mayors, wind, rain, more mechanicals, more rain, impromptu (and ill advised photo shoots), film crews and a lot of smiles, grit and determination but we did it. Yesteday Ifan and I finished our 265 mile challenge to a warm welcome in Capel Coch. Thanks to all that could make and to those that gave and added to the atmosphere. There's still time to donate anything you can will all proceeds going to the National Eisteddfod. Any ideas for the next adventure?

Day one: What a day!! Firstly Ifan's rear mech hangar broke within the first mile, causing a two hour delay. Once going things went well, meeting up with the television crew and then on our way. Tom Ludlam, a housemate of Ifan and I when we used to live in Cardiff met up with us for the first 70 miles and was a great help. The climb out of the Amman valley was stunning and signaled the start of some epic scenery, not to mention the descent down the other side! Unfortunately due to the delays, we finished in the dark, with Clare driving behind.
