    Story

My dad has had suffered a stroke in August and even though he would like to return to work (as he was the only household provider), his health problems that are still very severe are making it impossible to do so. Hoping that it would only be a very temporary situation my parents (who live with my nine year old brother) applied for benefits to help them until my dad has recovered enough to go back to work. Unfortunately for them, they have applied once the Universal Credit was already in place (in parts of Wales at least) and since then it has been an absolute nightmare filled with miscalculations, lack of any understanding or will to help and utter ignorance. Because the system is quite new and prone to mistakes (as we have been told many times by DWP ) my parents are constantly forced to challenge the decisions. IT is a very stressful and time consuming process, meaning that until it is all sorted they are forced to survive on around 20p a day.

My sister and I (even though we no longer live with our parents and have our own families) are trying to help them as much as possible, especially financially but unfortunately there is only so much that we can do. We had taken some loans to cover the bills and expenses that our parents weren't able to cover, but it wasn't enough to provide them with any extra support for the current day-to-day expenses (such as food, current bills and the essentials).

Our mum, who is suffering (for sixteen years now) from a chronic illness isn't able to work as well. She has tried to support the family through a small online eBay shop, but unfortunately with the increases in eBay charges she was forced to close it in November as it wasn't bringing any profit at all.

My parents have always worked hard and it's extremely upsetting that they are in such a situation that there is barely any money left for groceries and they are constantly in such a stress that isn't helping the health conditions of either one of them.

Therefore, I am kindly asking you for any donation (each pound is really appreciated) to help them with a daily expenses, so that they don't have to worry that there might not be enough money for food for the next day. If you cannot donate, please be kind enough to share with your friends or family. We will be grateful for any help.

Thank you for taking time to read it, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for any donations.
