Dakota came to SRR late last year with ongoing issues with her ears, she had bilateral base swellings and was clearly in discomfort. We proceeded with a CT scan (which is what we tend to do with any ear issues in rabbits). In January, Kota had her first surgery TECABO (total ear canal ablasion and bulla osteotomy) quickly followed by a second needed surgery on her left ear. It’s been over a month and weekly vet visits, antibiotics and cleaning but the ear is finally at a satisfactory stage is healing. We noticed that she was becoming increasingly head tilted over the past week, so upon her weekly vet visits to our exotics specialist it’s been discussed that we need to proceed with the right ear, and quickly! Dakota is booked in to have this done next Thursday (27th Feb). The initial surgery costs over £1,000 so we’d be very grateful with some help to raise the amount needed for her. She deserves to live a comfortable, pain free life ❤️‍🩹
