    Story

At 6wks pregnant I started to bleed it took 5days to get an emergency scan, thinking as we went in for the scan there would be no baby to our shock the doc turned her screen and said they you go your baby. Only this tiny dot with an heart beat but we was so relieved after 3months earlier we lost twins at 17wks. At the 20 wk scan we was so excited to find out what we was having we walked into the room so excited but was getting alarmed when it was taking longer and the scanner kept asking me to lay in different positions then she told us from what she could see our baby had a clept lip, after lots of talk my partner said did you see what we was having? And she told us we were having a girl! we had to wait for the second opinion. After seeing different consultants my consultant sent me to Nottingham to have 3D scan to see if there was any other problems and to see how server the Cleph lip was. The consultant said babies heart looked fine but it was a full cleph lip and pallet he didn't think was any signs of Down syndrome but if we wanted the umbilical cord test he would do it he gave us time alone to discuss our choice as it had to be done that day if we wanted it done as I was 24 wks. We decided that we didn't want the test we didn't want to risk loosing our baby girl. But we was given our own cleph nurse and in contact with a surgeon at queens hospital Nottingham. Freya was born on the 8th November 2010 at 12:45 weighing just 6lb she was the most amazing baby I had seen I cryed and asked is she ok is she ok and they passed me this tiny baby. She couldn't feed so was but onto special feeding bottles. Before she went onto the bottle she had to be syringe fed. A few wks later she had a heart scan to reveal her heart had not fully formed to cause s small whole in the heart but they thought it my come together with time if not a op maybe needed. At 11 wks Freya had her 1st op to repair her lip but had complications with her breathing she was in hospital for 5days inste
