I'm raising £500 to support redhen and brainstrust

Organised by Dan Bainbridge

Story

On 12th April 2026, I’ll be taking on the Marathon de Paris in Paris — and I’m hoping to raise £250 for two charities that mean a huge amount to me and my family.

This will be my second marathon.

After finishing my first 26.2 miles, I genuinely didn’t think I would ever do another one. It was one of the hardest physical and mental challenges I’ve faced. There were points where I questioned why I’d signed up at all — and I was certain that once was enough.

But some reasons are bigger than the struggle.

I’m running to support 2 charities. Donations made to this page will be paid into the charities via my work and match funded. If you donate £10 each charity will recieve £10.

The Red Hen Project – a fantastic local charity my wife works for, supporting families in our community who need help, guidance and encouragement. I see first-hand the difference this organisation makes to people’s lives.

Braintrust – a charity that supported my mum and dad while my dad was suffering with a brain tumour. During one of the most difficult periods our family has ever faced, they provided practical advice, clarity and reassurance when everything felt overwhelming. We will always be grateful for the support they gave us.

Training for a marathon is tough. Training for a second marathon, knowing exactly how hard race day will be, is even tougher. But every early morning run, every sore leg and every mile logged is for something far more important than a finish time.

I’m aiming to raise £300, and every donation — no matter how small — will go towards helping these two incredible charities continue their vital work.

If you’re able to support me, thank you. Your generosity will help turn 26.2 miles into something that truly matters.
