My name is Dan Baker an English teacher from Brighton UK and, up until a week ago (5th March 2022), I had been living in Kyiv with my wife Victoria, daughter Veronica and Pumpkin the cat. Because of the invasion by Russia we have been forced to leave our home and flee to Europe. After living in Kyiv for more than five years we had built up a life and now, after having to leave our flat and jobs, we have found ourselves homeless and unemployed. Since the war started on 24th February 2022 we have been unable to work and have relied on our savings to continue paying direct debits, finances and day to day living costs. Unfortunately these have now run out and we still haven't been able to get back to the UK. We need to continue paying our outgoings until we can safely return to Kyiv but we don't know how long that will take as it's not safe at the moment.
