Story
In June 2017 my daughter arrived with a bang, complications during the birth meant she suffered damage to her brain and was effectively being kept alive by machines. She was on a ventilator and instantly moved to neonatal intensive care and placed in one of only 2 cooling machines available in the hospital.
The machine is like an incubator but it cools the entire body including the brain instead of heating it, this slows down every process and allows the brain to catch up and repair.
The doctors and nurses in neonatal are second to none, i have no doubt that because of the quick work by these amazing people and that incredible machine, against all the odds, my daughter is still with us today. So far it seems there has been no lasting damage and she is a strong healthy little girl.
These machines are obviously very very expensive, what ever i can raise to help go towards a new one or even just to help with anything else in the department will be a big bonus and hopefully help families who end up in there. Please dig deep for this fantastic department who saves children's lives every day.
