I've raised £2000 to support a volunteer project in Fiji that builds schools, improves sanitation and health. Provides education and sports programmes

In June, I will be volunteering in Fiji for two months with Think Pacific. I chose this charity because of the incredible work they do. Although Fiji is a wonderful country with beautiful islands; the children in Fiji are growing up with limited education, basic knowledge and severe lack of opportunities. Did you know that 75% of children live below the poverty line in Fiji? Only 50% of children have access to adequate sanitation and fresh water. Just 5% of children gain an early years education. Through the work of Think Pacific and volunteers we are working to provide opportunities for children in rural villages in Fiji.
I will be living in one of these rural villages for the duration of the expedition. Whilst I am in the village I will be working in a primary school, supporting the children in small groups or in a 1-2-1 basis. Once I have finished at the primary school for the day, I will be working with school children with a range of activities from arts to public speaking. Afterwards, I will be involved in PE and sports coaching which the village and the children participate in. Some of the sports that are taught are rugby and netball.
Through your support you will be enabling children to have access to education, replenish resources, help rebuild essential facilities. As well as aiding myself to go to the project and continue to support Think Pacific.
This volunteering opportunity was an opportunity of a lifetime, and without a doubt the most rewarding and valuable life experience
