Weʼre raising £750 to Daney & Sam's 60 Things to do While You're 60 for Friends of Chernobyl's Children West Lothian
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Since Daney & Sam are both turning 60 this year, we thought it would be a good idea to get them out and about, while they still can. We have set them 60 challenges to complete between Daney's 60th Birthday in April 2018 and Sam's 61st Birthday in June 2019.
They have decided to raise money for local West Lothian Charity; Friends of Chernobyl's Children.
This charity relies solely on the support from local volunteers to sponsor and host children from Chernobyl, Belarus and surrounding areas. The children, aged 7 - 12 years, live with a local family for one month a year for 5-years. Whilst in Scotland they are given “a month of love and care”; clean healthy air, healthy food (and lot’s of it!); dental, optical and medical help when needed; schooling and, lots and lots of fun activities!
The children arrive with only the clothes they are wearing and go home with a full suitcase of clothes, toys, vitamins, medicines and many of the daily essentials that we take for granted. More details on the work of this worthy West Lothian charity can be found on their web site; https://www.foccwestlothian.com/
