Story
As many of you know on Friday 2nd August (just 2 weeks short of his 28th birthday) while visiting family in Bridlington Daniel suffered a major heart attack on the sea front which led to him needing emergency CPR and being airlifted to Castle Hill Hospital. He is still in Hull where he has been kept sedated and on a ventilator but will at some point be moved to the Leeds specialist Heart Unit where he can undergo further treatment including the fitting of an internal defibrillator but he does face a long road to recovery and in the short term there is a financial burden on his family not only to travel backwards and forwards to Hull but also to meet Dans financial commitments. I have been approached by a few people and asked if it would be possible to make a donation for Dan and myself and Tony Delaney discussed the options and checked with Dans mum Beverley that she was ok with the idea and decided that the Just Giving Platform was the best option as it allows any of dans friends who wish to make a donation to do so with ease. Now we have to set a target its just how it works on here so i have set it to £1000 this in no way is an expectation and nobody is expected to give more than they can afford and neither should they feel forced to

5 years agoDan has made remarkable progress over the last few weeks, he is now at Dewsbury to continue his rehab after having heart surgery. He is walking with the aid of a frame and really is doing incredibly! Next step is a home visit and then a move home to do more rehab in a more relaxed setting, some of your donations are going to be used to support this in buying dan things he will need to make life more comfortable at home

5 years agoSome really positive news tonight Dan has stood on his own two feet for the first time in 6 weeks and he is able to hold a conversation! He has a few holes in his memories that need filling but he is making inroads into his recovery. The next step is a heart operation but they think he may be a good candidate for Keyhole surgery which is obviously much lower impact than open heart. I am visiting him on Tuesday and will be sure to pass on all your well wishes!

5 years agoHappy Birthday Dan mate, many people are asking for updates on Dans condition on a daily basis at the moment there is not a massive amount of news to tell you all. What we can tell you is every penny donated is going to go a long way to help him below is a brief update on his condition as it is at the moment! Dan continues to be very poorly but is awake and more aware of his surroundings, his condition needs to be constantly monitored and will require him undergo MRI scans and Heart surgery as part of what will be a lengthy recovery process.
