    Story

I'd like to introduce you to Bruce, our beloved boxer dog who we rescued a year ago. Bruce hasn't had the easiest of runs in life. He was hit by a car at the tender age of 8 months, and due to his owner at the time not obtaining veterinary care at the time of his accident, Bruce was left with spinal injuries rendering him unable to weight bear on his back legs. It also left him doubly incontinent. All of which possibly contributed to him being left in the care of Joeys Legacy Boxer Rescue in Liverpool, the amazing organisation from which we adopted him.

Unfortunately a year into our adoption, the fates once more had it in for Bruce as he developed signs that all wasn't well, and it has transpired that this wonderful 3 year old dog has succumbed to a cancerous growth on one of his back legs ( ironically enough rendered useless by his accident!)

The only treatment option to save this little chaps life is an amputation of his affected back leg, with the potential that both legs may need to go. This is obviously a very drastic and expensive procedure.

Sadly, due to his previous spinal injury he is impossible to insure and so any medical treatment has to be paid for by us. Unfortunately we are a family of rather limited means, my wife has a long term neuromusclar condition which makes her a full time wheelchair user, I am her primary 24 hour carer which obviously affects my potential as a wage earner. So the only way to save our beloved Bruce from a premature end is to appeal to peoples generosity to help this amazing little dog.

So please help us if you can, poor Bruce has had to deal with a lot of adversity in his short life. Now he lives with a family that love him and care about him enough to try to do the best for him, only a shortage of money stands in the way. Please help to give this little chap the happy ending he deserves!
