Story

We are just trying to do something nice for Naomi for when she comes out of hospital. As her brother. I am not expecting major things but had the idea of starting this page so if any of Naomi‘s friends or other people wish to put a little in the pot. We can take her out for the day to put a smile on her face again. Anything over £45 will be given back to the ward to help other people with the same condtion

Naomi my sister, it seems to be the easiest way to let everyone know what’s happening).

We’ve been at the hospital most of the day today with her. They have found out that she has systemic lupus erythamatosus (sle). She has it in an aggressive form which has caused her to have kidney failure. She is having dialysis again today and they will begin to try treating the lupus from tomorrow. Best scenario - the treatments works well and she can hopefully go home in about 2 weeks. She will then need to go to Exeter hospital 3 times a week for dialysis for approx 3 months. By then, if her body has been responding well to the lupus treatment, the kidneys should hopefully be functioning so she can come off dialysis. Hopefully long term they can then move her to a tablet form of treatment for the lupus and she just has to have regular blood tests to ensure everything is ok. Whilst they are treating the lupus, she has to have her immune system suppressed so she can’t be around anyone with a cold or anything.

She would love to see anyone that can visit her (Exeter RD&E hospital), however if you have a cold, temperature or anything please stay away until well as it could have devastating effects on Naomi.

If you can donate we would welcome your help to make her smile again.
