    Story

The club thought it would be a good idea to raise money for a local charity as such a big event. The club are passionate about the area and the people within community. The club wanted to reach out and help others. There were lots of charities to choose from but the chosen charity for 2017 was the Frodsham Stroke Club.

The Frodsham Stroke Club is open to people who have had a stroke or related illnesses and their family, friends and carers. They offer advice and support as well as providing opportunities to have fun and make friends at our monthly social gatherings. Each month there will be a newsletter and a social gathering. There will also be occasional special events and fundraisers. Vital funds are needed in order for the Stoke club to provide disbality equipment to members and people in the community.

The biggest annual club event is the D2D (dawn till dusk) which takes place on the 17th June 2017. D2D gets its name because literally it requires riding from dawn till dusk. The ride is 220 miles long and starts in Frodsham at 03.30. This will attract more than 25 riders who will take on this mighty challenge.

The route heads up to Liverpool and through the Birkenhead tunnel then through the Welsh lanes passing Flint, St Asaph then breakfast as Llanwrst at 09.00. Then a long section to Porthmadog. The next destination is Barmouth which is the furthest point on the ride. From here it is a long ride back to Frodsham via Dolgellau, Bala and Corwen before reaching Frodsham at 22.00. Some riders will continue onto Liverpool as this was their starting point. We would love to see some support and encouragement for the riders passing through Frodsham at the finish. Why not come along and be part of this epic event. There will be regular tweets and post throughout the day giving you live updates.
Keep an eye out on our website at www.frodshamwheelers.co.uk and local magazines.
