Story

This is a 10 year anniversary edition of the Overbury Cycling challenge. This year we take on London to Bruges (Belgium) via Dover in 3 days covering around 320 miles

- 30th April - 2nd May

- Day 1 London Newman street to Dover

- Day 2 & 3 - We will be tackling the 2025 Official Tour of Flanders route, which features numerous stretches of cobblestones, including the renowned Holleweg and Karel Martelstraat in Oudenaarde. Additionally, we will tackle the formidable Roubaix parkour , celebrated for hosting one of the oldest and most prestigious one-day races in Europe, and known for its legendary and challenging Trouée d’Arenberg cobbled forest section.

We have selected 3 incredible Charites to support this year.

Shooting Star children's hospice https://www.shootingstar.org.uk/

Those that know me and my family will know only too well that there is one particular charity that is extremely close to our hearts and that is "Shooting Star children's hospice”. Some of you will know what this amazing charity did for my courageous little boy Max and how I feel compelled to carry on raising money to support the care of the very poorly children I got to see every day. It was 10 years ago that many of these Overbury colleagues decided to support & raise money for Max & Shootings star and ride from London to Amsterdam.

Shooting Stars provide the most amazing care and help to the whole family through one of most unthinkably difficult times any parent could face, providing support to parents, siblings, grandparents and the wider family through residential or care at home, counselling, bereavement care and a wide range of children's therapies and much more. As well as end of life care they provide respite care for hundreds of children with complex needs, giving their families a much needed break.

All this can be said with my hand on my heart through our own personal experience living at the Hampton hospice for over 8 months and seeing their amazing work first hand.

Wakefield hospice - https://www.wakefieldhospice.org/

Wakefield hospice is a registered local charity that provides free, specialist palliative and end of life care to people who need it most. My brother, Oliver Wood, spent the last month of his life there, and during that time we witnessed first-hand the compassion, time, and dedication shown by every member of staff. They went above and beyond - not only ensuring my brother was as comfortable and supported as possible, but even allowing a group of 6-foot rugby lads to descend upon the hospice with Friday night takeaways to keep up a boys night tradition. Wakefield Hospice costs around £11,500 per day to operate, totaling over £4 million in annual running costs, so any donation - big or small - will make a huge difference to families who rely in their exceptional care.

MOE foundation - https://moefoundation.com/

MOE Foundation helps people create a positive impact in their community by applying what they have learned through our programmes. We teach personal leadership tools and coaching methods that not only help people to be more confident and successful in their career, but also to discover their sense of purpose, meaning and contribution. We aim to gift 50% of places on our courses to the most vulnerable people in our society, and help establish a coaching culture at the charity organisations we support, thereby directly and indirectly supporting underprivileged young people, the unemployed, ex-offenders, people serving a prison sentence, and the homeless.
