Story

My inspiration to return to Ukraine and make a difference

I am Australian, I am from the Mid North Coast of NSW and currently live in Scotland

I have a very personal story that doesn't relate to me that I have promised to share with the world and it's about the humanitarian crisis that is occurring in Ukraine.

I have been given the responsibility of sharing his story and the presentation of this story comes at a great personal risk

This type of story has not been seen on or published in mainstream media since Neil Davis brought the Vietnam War into our living rooms or onto the front pages of our newspapers

I have just returned home from a number of Ukrainian cities that I was requested to volunteer in with a personal request that no one should ever have to promise to complete

Before I left, I returned to a volunteer center where I had been volunteering for over a week to say goodbye. I found the volunteers in a very distressed state. By sitting down with them and talking to them I discovered a number of them had just received unfiltered video footage of their town and homes that had been destroyed by the Russians

During this extremely distressing experience the volunteers all shared one specific feeling and that was as the War continues they will be forgotten about and the needs of all Ukrainian’s will be ignored by the West

This concern was highlighted as the volunteers are of a generation who experienced and lived through the aftermath of Chernobyl. They truly feel no one will come if a second Nuclear disaster occurs in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion

Over the next 24 hours as I made my way home I received close to 300 pieces of footage that included both photographs and videos that were recorded by Ukrainians who returned home after their villages, towns, and cities were liberated by Ukrainian Forces

I was also presented with a personal letter from a volunteer that I am in the process of getting interpreted and this gift made me more determined to fulfill my promise

The promise I made was to present this footage of the devastation that is occurring in Ukraine

Thankyou for your time and any assistance you can provide me with that will enable me to fulfil my promise I made to the people of Ukraine would be appreciated
