A Happier Life Rescue, rescues abandoned and stray dogs in the UK and Romania, in Romainia the dogs are at risk of poisoning, starvation, and abuse on a daily basis. They also rescue from some notorious Romanian public ‘kill’ shelters, where the dog catchers take the dogs they find on the street. They are kept in overcrowded, filthy and diseased conditions. They are starved and it is not uncommon for dogs to eat each other as they are driven to madness. Those that survive after 14 days are killed by the vet, sometimes they do not even use anaesthetic and poison the dogs instead.

Julie and her wonderful team prepare the dogs they rescue for adoption. Many of their dogs need social conditioning as, due to the horrific abuse they have suffered, they find it difficult to trust humans. A Happier Life Rescue works with these dogs to get them to trust in the human race again and find a forever home.

They desperately need funds to pay for maintaining their kennels, food, and vet bills. Without more support they cannot continue the amazing work that they do.
