I've raised £600 to support Ashbourne Animal Welfare to be able to continue the vital work of caring for & finding forever homes for cats & dogs.

Six years ago I weighed in at 42.5 stone, I was heavier than a sumo wrestler, and not living a healthy lifestyle in the slightest, with a huge amount of help from friends, family & my gym family I have managed to turn my health & life around.
Today I currently weigh under 18 stone and on 8th March I will be taking part in - Fearons Gym Presents A Night Of Charity Championship Boxing, at the Spot in Derby, I’ve spent the past 10 weeks in dedicated training with Clive Fearon, ex-welterweight boxer and Psychologist, and his team of nutritionists and trainers have supported me every step of the way. There’s been sweat, blood and tears, but quitters never win and I’m determined to get over the line & hopefully win that belt!
I'm using this opportunity to give back to a fantastic Charity - Ashbourne Animal Welfare (Charity no. 1014249). Ashbourne Animal Welfare operates The Ark Rescue and Rehoming Centre for unwanted and stray cats and dogs. They provide TLC as well as any necessary veterinary care prior to adoption, and always neuter and promote responsible pet ownership. The charity was formed in 1988 and has helped over 8000 animals to date.
My aim is to sponsor 2 of the pens for a year, as sponsorship of a pen helps to fund their vital work and your donations will help provide the care needed for the cats or dogs who stay in the sponsored pens. £300 will cover one year’s sponsorship for one pen, and all money raised will go towards the day to day expenses of running the pen, including providing any veterinary care for the occupants.
- If you would like to attend the event please drop me a line on 07506628338 / or email d.howie@cv-library.co.uk Tickets cost £25 each for adults & the event is child friendly with tickets costing £12.50.
It would be amazing to see as many faces on the night as possible, if you aren't able to make the event not a problem & I thank you in advance for your support / donation, no matter how big or small every penny this great charity receives is a huge help.
