Republic of the Congo

This country is situated exactly in the heart of Africa on one side and the other of the ecuador. A huge part of the teritory is covered by luxuriant forestry. The rainforest supports an astoninshing range of life ,within its teeming rivers ,swamps and savannahs. Being one of the richest countries in the world in natural resources (diamants, gold, cobalt , copper, jade) and having a favourable climate for the development of a structured agriculture on at least two annual crops, the country is still one of the world’s least developed , with one of the most regressive economies ,an extremely high mortality rate and a high security risk.

The Congo’s apocalyptic present is a direct product of decisions and actions taken over the past centuries. There are raped victims ,rebels ,bloated politicians and haunted citizens of a country that has ceased to function , people who struggle to survive in a place cursed by a past that defies description ,a history that will not release them - from its death like grip.

Thousands of children suffer from diseases caused by the lack of drinking water and undernutrition.

There is no food, no water , no houses , not even hope for better. They have huge problems with educational systems. There are countries in this world where buying a book means giving up to 5 litres of water ,where people live with less than 1 $ per day. There are children born in extremely poor, corrupt countries , led by irresponsible governments for whom education ,a book or a library is the last priority. Congo is one of those.

I want to help these children. I want to give them hope for better, for a better future . Therefore I intend to present my idea to other interested people who would like to help them. I would offer as a volunteer to meditate the children from places where are no schools. I would like to teach them how to read and to write and how to express their rights, their wishes for living in a better world. I would raise money to buy food or water or maybe even books . I would do everything I can to help them, to contribute to their education. They deserve to have the same future as any other child from the world.
