Story

I AM RUNNING A HAMPTON COURT HALF MARATHON- MARCH 17TH 2019

The Orangutans of Borneo are on the verge of extinction and need all the help they can get.

I spent 3 weeks in Borneo visiting several national parks meeting the incredible local people, 'tribe' members and those working in or for the wildlife centres along the way. Although it was a relatively short stay we managed to learn a lot about what's really happening to the remaining wild Orangutans with the help of our incredible group leader (orang-utan expert) Alvin . He showed us how the pet trade, hunting and deforestation has reduced their numbers and habitat that is unsustainable.

My aim is to help raise funds enough to towards purchasing vital equipment such as camera traps and drones, which will be priceless in the efforts to monitor the remaining Orangutans specifically in Batang Ai, analysing numbers, breeding, taking hair samples from nest sites and also surveying logging. Once the equipment is purchased it will be vital in making the currently impossible task and also reduce time and costs. At the same time recording and building data to fight big corporates coming in and cutting down territory orangutans have been roaming forever.

I Believe these amazing creatures are worth saving, and wouldn't take much to make a small difference...please donate!
