My name is Daniel Maddocks and I am a retained firefighter for the Isle of Man fire and rescue service, based at Ramsey fire station.

In January I will be going to Manchester to do the hyrox event on the 22nd, I will be doing the event in full fire kit including a breathing apparatus set and cylinder, for those that don’t know about hyrox the event will consist of.

* 80 meters of burpee broad jumps

* 1 kilometer of running into

* 200 meters of kettlebell farmer carry 2x24kg

* 1 kilometer of running into

* 100 meters of sandbag walking lunge 10kg

* 1 kilometer of running into

* 100 wall balls 6kg

I will be raising money for two but hopefully three charities.
