Story
In 1913 His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama sent four Tibetan boys from Lhasa to be educated at Rugby School in the UK. Just over one hundred years later we want to bring two boys from the exiled Tibetan community in northern India to visit Rugby for two weeks in February 2017 in order to continue our relationship with the fascinating yet hugely suffering people of Tibet.
They will be from Sambhota Tibetan School in Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, which is one of 72 schools set up for the children of those who have fled the violent oppression of Tibet by China since 1959. Our aim is for the trip not to cost them anything and as such we are hoping to raise this money to pay for their international flights and UK visas, with any excess being donated to their school.
