Story

In 2017 we held a Kenilworth Soccer 8s tournament in loving memory of Daniel Smith, an incredible young man! Due to its success, we gave £1834.26 directly to an amazing young lady called Beth Semikin who used the cash to visit a friend in Australia. Just like Daniel, Beth is a real inspiration and we were delighted to help her.

Following on from this success, Riccardo Scimeca and myself have organised Soccer 8s on Saturday 30th June, 2018 to help another young and positive individual through a very tough time with cancer! The individual will be announced after the tournament and all the proceeds will go directly to them. The squads have already been confirmed so please do not turn up expecting to play unless you have been asked. It is an over 35s tournament and will be played in the greatest spirit as always! It will be a fun afternoon for family and friends. There will be a bouncy castle and face painter for the kids along with some stalls providing cakes and sweets so please get involved. Your support will make a huge difference!

After the tournament finishes (approx 5.30pm), we will be heading straight over to The Royal Oak, Kenilworth, for some bbq food and refreshments. There will also be a raffle / auction to help raise more funds for the brave young individual so, if anyone would like to help provide some prizes for the raffle, please get in touch with me or Riccardo. Thank You. Carl Smith x

In loving memory of DANIEL SMITH (Dan The Man): On February 4th, 2016, our youngest brother, Daniel Smith, 24, a fit and strong young man with his life ahead of him became ill with stomach pains whilst driving home from work and ended up at the nearest hospital. Soon after, Dan was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive cancer called a sarcoma.

Once transferred and under the care of a brilliant surgeon and team at the Royal Free, Dan had a huge operation to remove a large tumour along with his stomach, spleen and 3/4 of his pancreas. Early scans were very encouraging and Dan was showing incredible strength on his way towards recovery, however, a later scan showed it was back and very aggressive. Tragically, after trying everything possible, Dan passed away on April 19th, 2016.

Dan is the bravest person we have ever known. He loved life, was extremely funny and brightened up everyone's day. Everyone loved him. We're so proud of him and will never forget him. It's great to know that his legacy carries on and he's still able to help others.
