Story
Hi,
I’m Daniel and I have been selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree this Summer, representing Hitchin and Hertfordshire Scouting. I will be one of 45,000 young people from across the world going to West Virginia for the Jamboree. The cost to attend is £3770. As part of my fundraising, on Saturday 9th March 2019, I will be doing a 42.5 km bike ride with 3 other successful applicants around my home town and villages. I have planned the route to be the same length and roughly the same shape as the perimeter of the Summit Bechtel Family Scout Reserve where the Jamboree takes place. As well as camping for 12 nights at the Jamboree site, on this trip I will also have the chance to go to New York, Washington D.C. and Canada where I will be staying with a Canadian Scout Troop.
During the Jamboree there is an abundance of activities to do as well as many cultures and languages to explore. This year there are 133 countries attending! I'm really looking forward to participating in the activities and learning about cultures and beliefs from people around the world.
The money I raise will not only fund me but will also contribute to the cost of other Scouts attending from around the world who might not otherwise be able to attend.
Please donate if you can, to help me - ‘ Unlock a new World at the 2019 Jamboree ‘
