Story
Big Sam Dawson and I are doing another charity cycle ride. This time from Gothenburg to London. Over 1,700km in 10 days of pure hell. Previously for the Monaco to London ride we raised all money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. This time we are splitting the fundraising between Great Ormond Street and the Charity Mind. The work GOSH does is simply amazing and doesn’t really need much introduction. As many of you know GOSH is at the centre of my family as my daughter is under constant care from them.
Joe, A dear friend to so many; departed this world far too early when he tragically took his own life after suffering in silence. A loving father and husband and the most positive man I had the pleasure to call my friend. A selfless man that only ever wanted to help other people and only ever wearing a smile.
This cycle ride will hopefully help increase awareness for mental health and raise money that can help many more young men and women that are battling in silence with mental health issues. We will set off in May 2019 with the goal of arriving back in London Thursday 16th May to mark the 1 year Anniversary of Joes funeral.
Any donation over £1,000 we will add your name/company logo to our jersey and make sure there is a big following. I didn‘t get these teeth for my own benefit you know.
We appreciate that sponsorship demands are fairly regular these days so we have decided to make sure that the challenge is one that is as worthy as the causes we are supporting. I would like to thank you all in advance for all your time and generosity.

5 years agoLast leg into central London we just wanted to thank everyone for all their support and generosity, it continues to humble us. Taking this opportunity to thank personally the Haase family for huge generosity while we were on the bikes and Roopa who has been drumming up huge interest and sponsorship while we dress up in Lycra. Continued thanks to Bank of America Merril Lynch and all the incredible boys and girls that work there for their continued support while we have been cycling. Can’t wait to see you in the square for beers xx

5 years agoWell Denmark got interesting. Cycled the entire stretch in one day then the big lad decided to flip himself over the handle bars at 30kmh into the road. What looked like a broken wrist, severe road rash, smashed up knee and elbow he walked into a local Aldi and got some frozen peas thinking that would fix everything. Incredibly after actual medical attention outside of the frozen section he is determined to carry on. I would have needed air support, a tailor to repair my accented cycle clothing, and an orthodontist.

5 years agoThat’s me with the pink accents and transition lenses and Sam in a horrendous top.. Thankfully for this ride he decided to wear black cycling trousers. The white ones went see through for Monaco-London. Awful.
