Weʼre raising £1,500 to Donate to the Orangutan Sanctuary in Borneo, Malaysia
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Every day on average 25 orangutans are killed in Borneo due to deforestation for palm oil production.
Our 10 year old daughter Ella has been touched by this and is trying to raise awareness and money so we can donate it to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Malaysia.
The Sepilok centre was established in 1964 to help rehabilitate orangutans which had been orphaned. Just like a human baby, the orphaned young orangutan (which would normally live with its mother for 5-6 years) needs to be taught how to cope in the wild, while its health is carefully monitored during rehabilitation.
Ella plans to run a bake sale at school, do a sponsored run and much more so watch this space!
