Please help terminally ill, Macclesfield teenager, Josh Sweeney, to fulfilled his wish to give his mum away.
Josh was born on the 2nd of august 2006, at just 4 months old, Josh was diagnosed with a grade 2 spinal glioblastoma. He under went 36 hours a week of chemo, radiotherapy, and four long brain operations. After putting up a brave fight, little Josh beat cancer. However, the treatment caused significant damage to his spinal cords and aged 3 Josh received his first wheel chair.
Despite Josh’s struggles his fighting spirit remains, nothing stopped this determined little boy from living life to the fullest and bring a smile to everyone he meets with his hilarious sense of humour. Fiona was optimistic that their troubles were behind them and looked forward to a brighter future with her amazing little boy.
In 2012 tragedy struck again, when Josh was diagnosed for the 2nd time with grade2 blastoma. To give him a greater chance of survival, he spent three months in America receiving proton therapy. In true Josh style he fought with everything he had and beat Cancer for the 2nd time in his short life.
Sadly May 2019 brought devastating news for the family once again, when Josh was diagnosed with for the 3rd time with a high grade gliblastoma and even more devastating for Josh, there is no cure. Despite being given radio therapy and chemo, designed to give a small 2% chance of slowing the cancer down, giving Josh more time with his family, recent scan has shown his tumours are continuing to grow.
On Christmas Day 2019, his step dad Joel, proposed to his mum. Josh’s one wish is to give his mum away and witness the biggest day of her life. As you can imagine money is tight and the pressure is on to arrange a wedding in a short space of time. Josh’s is dream is to give his mum, who has dedicated her life to caring for him and supporting through his journey, a day that dreams are made of.
Fiona is an amazing lady who is just as inspirational as her son. Her optimistic outlook on life is truly remarkable considering the heartbreak she is enduring. Continuing to laugh, joke and see the brighter side of life with a determination to make her sons days the happiest she can. If there is one lady that deserves to share this precious day with her son, it’s her.
Please, if you can help in any way by offering a donation or a service to contribute to this cause it will be massively appreciated.

The day was amazing and would not of been possible without everyone’s kind donations and the amazing businesses that donated their services.

My baby was in hospital on the Burns Unit at RMCH the same time as Josh when his mum was pregnant. I often wondered how he was getting on. I really wish I could give more. Sending lots of love
