Story

* I’ve edited this Justgiving page as Todd now unfortunately has been told his chemotherapy is not working, his tumour is growing bigger and surgery is no longer an option. Todd‘s cancer doctor has told us he has about a year before the unthinkable so I really would like to push this and get Todd all the days out and money for whatever he wants to do make him happy but also to make all the memories with his family without worrying about cost - thank you so much for all the donations already it meant hospital trips, parking fees and life whilst he was in hospital abit easier *

Todd previously had Rhabdomyosarcoma, a muscle cancer at the age of 3, he has since gone on to beat this through endless treatments of chemotherapy (both at home and in hospital) and through radiotherapy which was in Manchester for 6 weeks.

He got to ring the bell and after a couple of years everything was done with. He went on to have checks every 3 months and then it dropped down to checks every 6 months as he was doing so well. Seeing Todd poorly was awful and something we thought we’d never have to see again. He has since gone on to go to school and live a normal life of a little boy!

Todd is now 7 and has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma a bone cancer

The doctors believe this cancer has been caused from his radiotherapy treatment as the new tumour is at the edge of the site of where is radiotherapy was

We were told that he would have side effects from chemotherapy and radiotherapy such as his teeth not growing properly but Todd started to have a hard lump growing at the top of his mouth. After dentist visits, a trip to A&E and finally a biopsy he got his new diagnosis.

Todd’s new care plan is to not have radiotherapy as this won’t help the new type of cancer he has but he will have chemotherapy with different chemo drugs from last time and surgery

His chemotherapy treatment requires hospital stays for 3 days one week and then 2 weeks later hospital stays for up to 7 days and then following week (this is so the doctors can check he has flushed the treatment out of his system before he’s allowed home) and this goes on for 30 plus weeks

Surgery is needed but doctors are unsure of when they can operate as the place of where the tumour is in his jaw requires a team of specialists (also he is still growing)

Todd needs further tests to make sure his hearing, kidneys and heart are functioning properly so he can start the chemotherapy he needs and his Hickman/central line needs to be fitted again

Also tests such as full body MRI, chest CT and bloods need to be done to determine if this new cancer has spread. All of these tests should be done over the next month and his treatment can start

I have set up this page as I am Todd’s auntie and would love to be able to help my sister and her husband (Todd’s Mum and Dad) out with costs of travel to all his treatments and days out for Todd when he is feeling better

Jade and Sam shouldn’t have to worry about money in a time like this and it really helped before, especially with Jade no longer being able to work

Anything will help, I just want to make sure Todd can have the best time in the worst time

Thank you so much 💙
