I've raised £250 to help the Heads Together mental health charity by abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth!

The tail end of 2018 was a real difficult time for me and my family for reasons I don’t want to shout about. However, it opened my eyes to the importance of a strong support group of friends and family to help you navigate through the toughest of times. Unfortunately, this is something that not everyone is lucky enough to be able to lean on and so, needs to be found in other places.
This is why, I felt emboldened and passionate enough to do something that I’ve never even contemplated before, with the goal of raising as much money as physically possible for Heads Together! I hope that the money raised will go a long way towards helping people get through the most difficult situations, as sometimes all you need is a helping hand and a nudge in the right direction to realise that you’re able to accomplish anything if you set your mind to it. The nudge that I’m getting will leave me dangling from a rope at the top of an incredibly high building so, perhaps that’s not the best analogy to use in the circumstances…
Anyway, sometimes you have to meet scary situations head on and you can be faced with circumstances beyond your control that can seem impossibly to cope with on your own. The support that Heads Together, as a mental health charity, provide to those feeling lower than low has the ability to pick people up and make them feel like they are able to keep going and keep strong for themselves and others.
So, I’m going to throw myself off the Spinnaker tower to show that positive mental attitude goes a long way towards accomplishing your goals. What I know is that finding a headspace where that positive mental attitude is can be almost impossible sometimes. If I can do my bit to help a fantastic organisation that carries out work helping people to stay in that positive mental place as much possible, I can only be doing a good thing.
I still can’t help thinking “what on earth have I got myself into…”
