Story

Hi everyone, it’s with a heavy heart we have created this page to raise funds for our dear friend Danny Tonner who has been suffering from MND for the last 24 months. To be honest it’s difficult to find the words to describe watching the decline of the health of one of our best friends and to try and help Danny and his family we have decided to do this fundraiser.

For anyone who doesn’t know him personally, Danny is 33 year’s old former chef from Greenock. He is the father of Orlagh 10 and Daniel 5. In August 2021 Danny after a several of months of feeling something wasn’t quite right, Daniel was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease.

Motor Neurone Disease is a Neuro Degenerative Disease (NDD) which essentially means Danny’s central nervous system is unable to send signals to his motor neurones, which are critical to be able to move limbs and control movement. There is no cure for MND.

Despite the harsh hand dealt to Daniel he continues to be positive and tries to continue to live his life to the fullest with his family. His attitude is amazing and his family show strength, love and support to help him as this cruel disease has taken hold over the last 2 years.

We have decided to raise funds by completing the 3 peak challenge, climbing the Uk's highest 3 mountains in under 24 hours. We will set off for Ben Nevis in the North of Scotland on the 7th of October, before heading to Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finally onto Snowdonia in Wales.

Our goal is to try and help Daniel and his family live their lives to the fullest during the time they have left together. Any donation you can make no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. We are hoping to raise £5000.

As time is of the essence we will update as we go along, but wanted to get the page up and running as we plan to take on the challenge within a short time frame!

Thanks for reading Danny’s story!
