I've raised £5000 to support ‘homelessness’. I’m currently riding a motorbike from ‘North Cape’ to ‘South Cape’ to raise awareness of the situation.

I’m raising money for ‘homeless support organisations’. I’m a co-founder of ‘Cool to be Kind’ in Chelmsford, England, one such organisation, which both directly supports homeless people, and works with local government to improve services for vulnerable people. We advocate the implementation of ‘Housing First’.
I also have a passion for ‘overland motorbike adventure’. In 2014/15 I rode overland through 37 countries, from London to Sydney, Australia. At the start of June this year I left England to start my ‘One Cool Ride’. I’m riding from ‘North Cape’ (Nordkapp, Norway) to ‘South Cape’ (Cape Agulhas, South Africa). Having been ‘on the road’ for two months now, I’ve so far travelled through 22 countries in Europe and The Middle East. Over the coming months I will ride down through Africa.
Along the way I am visiting local homeless support organisations to find out both what the situation is like in other countries and what support is available. In addition, I visited ‘Housing First Europe Hub’ in Helsinki, where I gained valuable knowledge and created a collaboration to further the process of implementation in England.
You can follow my adventure and see what I learn along the way at danskeates.com and c2bk.co.uk.
The money we raise will be spent wisely, initially working with Chelmsford City Council to install ‘lockers’ in the city, where homeless people can store their belongings securely. In addition to this great initiative, the money facilitates the purchase of items such as food, clothing and sleeping bags to help homeless people to can survive whilst ‘on the streets’. Cool to be Kind has collaborations with other organisations through South East England, where we help and support them with these items too.
Thank you for taking time to read about my project. Any donations will be very are warmly received and I assure you that all money will goes directly to support homeless people.
